About Orange Chicken

Nestled in the heart of Temple City, California, Orange Chicken Express at 5611 Rosemead Blvd stands as a go-to destination for those craving quick, satisfying Chinese-American fare. Specializing in fast-casual dining, this establishment has carved out a niche for itself by focusing on crowd-pleasing dishes that balance convenience with bold flavors. While it may not position itself as a gourmet destination, its straightforward approach to classic takeout favorites makes it a practical choice for busy families, professionals on the go, and anyone seeking a no-fuss meal without compromising on taste.

The restaurant’s signature orange chicken takes center stage, offering crispy, golden-brown pieces coated in a tangy-sweet glaze that strikes a familiar chord with fans of Americanized Chinese cuisine. This dish exemplifies the eatery’s commitment to delivering consistent, approachable flavors that cater to local tastes. Alongside this star item, the menu likely features other staples such as fried rice, chow mein, and perhaps teriyaki-based options, though specific offerings are best confirmed directly with the restaurant. The emphasis here is on speed and reliability, with a kitchen optimized for efficient service during lunch and dinner hours from 10:00 AM to 8:30 PM daily.

Operating in a competitive culinary landscape, Orange Chicken Express distinguishes itself through accessibility. Its unpretentious setup—evident in its unclaimed online listing status, which suggests a focus on in-person service over digital marketing—speaks to a business model centered on community engagement. Patrons like Kohei I and Bruce C highlight its role as a dependable spot for quick meals, with reviews emphasizing phrases like “fast and good” and “good enough when you’re in a hurry.” This no-nonsense ethos extends to its family-friendly atmosphere, where casual dining meets affordability.

Located at 5611 Rosemead Blvd, the restaurant benefits from visibility along a well-trafficked corridor in Temple City, making it an easy stop for both locals and passersby. While the interior may lean toward functional rather than elaborate, the focus remains squarely on the food. The lack of pretension aligns with its target audience: those prioritizing convenience and familiarity over ambiance. For added flexibility, third-party delivery services like DoorDash extend its reach to nearby neighborhoods, ensuring that even those pressed for time can enjoy its offerings.

Though the business currently lacks detailed online promotion, its sustained operation suggests a loyal customer base. The phone number (+1 626-286-8893) serves as a direct line for orders, inquiries, and feedback, reflecting a traditional yet effective approach to customer service. As Temple City’s dining scene evolves, Orange Chicken Express remains a steadfast option for classic takeout, embodying the adage that sometimes simplicity—when executed with care—is the ultimate sophistication. Whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch or picking up dinner for the family, this spot delivers exactly what it promises: hearty, flavorful meals that hit the spot without breaking the bank.

By maintaining a clear focus on its core strengths—speed, affordability, and crowd-pleasing recipes—Orange Chicken Express continues to serve as a culinary workhorse in the community. Its story is one of practicality meeting passion, where every dish tells a tale of convenience crafted for real-life demands. In a world of endless dining choices, this unassuming eatery reminds us that reliability can be the most delicious virtue of all.

I usually dont give reviews but the food was all around bad!! I had orange chicken and hot wins with noodles and steamed rice. All the food was cold and tasteless! I took about 4 bites and that was it! For $15.00 for a 2 item combo it was gross!! It was 2 on the afternoon so not right before closing. The food was all dried up..not juicy. I'll never ever go back there to eat. The noodles were tasteless and pasty!! Idk what happened the food used to be good but it isn't anymore!🤮🤮

This place has been around forever, at least since the early 1990s. Growing up, my parents used to bring me here often and I soon became fond of the chow mein. I remember I came here every single day for a week back when I was in elementary school. However, that was back then. They've since changed owners several times. And the recipes have surely evolved. I went back a couple of times in the past year or so; their orange chicken doesn't taste fresh, plus the chow mein was overcooked and not very filling. I got some veggies, but felt hungry again soon after. I think the issue with these types of places is that the food isn't made to order. Instead, they cook everything earlier in the day and then put it out, so it gets dried up quickly. On the other hand, they can't really charge you a high price for it. I guess this would be some place you could try if you wanted Americanized Chinese food. However, we've moved on to eating at Sam Woo and Panda these days. I don't really see any reason for returning, even if it's one of the closest restaurants to me.

Food is delicious. There is plenty of variety to choose from. Though I did not get to see the full menu. I only ordered from what was available in front of me. There is plenty of parking. Place was full. There were other families dining in while I ordered to go. Portion size is also very good. Service was great. I definitely want to go back and see what else is offered.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that’s portion are still large in spite of the current department. I had the three item combo (Beef broccoli, Orange chicken and Pineapple chicken with chow mein and fried rice). They all tasted the way I expected. I was very pleased that I could do a half and half for the chow mein and fried rice. The staff were very friendly and courteous. Oh and they take Apple Pay too!

This is nice alternative to Panda Express for fast casual Chinese food. Located in a strip mall next to Super A foods grocery store. Great portions and friendly staff. They charge a fee for card payments less than $10. Nice place to grab lunch if your nearby.
